The Netcom 5697 is a tunable high pass low pass filter that covers 750 MHz to 1500 MHz. It uses two tunable sections in series: a high pass with a cutoff from 700 to 1250 MHz, and a low pass with a cutoff from 790 to 1500 MHz. Each section is set on its own, so you can pick both the centre frequency and the width of the passband. This is the main difference from a fixed percentage bandpass filter, where the width follows the centre frequency and cannot be changed.
The filter has 32 tuning states and is set through a standard SPI interface. It runs from 3.3 V and draws 3 mA. Insertion loss is 3.5 dB maximum for passbands wider than 50 MHz. Rejection is 18 dB minimum at 20% below the high pass cutoff, and 15 dB minimum at 20% above the low pass cutoff. IIP3 is +40 dBm and RF power handling is +27 dBm. The part is a surface mount device measuring 0.650 x 0.375 x 0.150 inches and works from -40 to +85 °C.
