5723 Notch Filter
Model 5723 is a digitally tunable UHF notch filter with a notch that tunes from 486 to 750 MHz, while the passband stays flat across the full 225 to 750 MHz range. A system covering the whole UHF band can therefore notch out an interferer in the upper half without losing anything below it. The filter uses a lumped element design, which keeps it small and holds a constant absolute notch bandwidth across the tuning range. The notch frequency is set over an SPI interface in 200 kHz steps, and the same interface switches the filter between active mode (notch on) and bypass mode (notch off). Notch rejection is 17 dB typical, 15 dB minimum, at ±2 MHz from the notch center. Passband insertion loss is 0.7 dB typical in bypass mode and 1.2 dB typical outside fnotch ±24 MHz. Internal temperature compensation holds the notch frequency in spec from -40 °C to +85 °C. The filter handles +33 dBm input power and runs from a single 3.3 V supply. It comes in 1.50 x 1.10 x 0.25 inch surface mount housing.
