The Netcom 5795-10 is a tunable bandpass filter covering 1.0 GHz to 1.8 GHz in the L-band. The centre frequency is set in 1 MHz steps and the 3 dB bandwidth is 10% of the tuned frequency. The filter moves to a new frequency in 10 microseconds.
It is part of the TunePro 2W series, so it handles 2 watts (+33 dBm P1dB) while staying in a 0.575 x 0.575 inch surface mount package. IIP3 is +45 dBm and insertion loss is 4.3 dB typical. Rejection is 11 dB at 10% away from the tuned frequency, 16 dB at 15% away and 20 dB at 20% away. Control is by serial interface. The part runs from 3.3 V at 30 mA and works from -40 to +85 °C.
The 10% bandwidth makes this a broad preselector rather than a sharp channel filter. It passes wide or hopping signals whole, and the small size and higher power rating let it sit in places where a larger filter will not fit, including on the transmit side.
